Do you have a journalistic mind, are a good listener, know what the right question is and when to ask it? Interested in the history of local Jewish families? We are looking for volunteers to join the Oral History Team as interviewers. The Interviewer will set up interview times and record oral histories from local Jewish people and organizations. The interviews will be conducted either at the JCC, or at the Interviewee’s residence, and all training and equipment is provided. Other responsibilities might include cataloguing and transcribing. Join our Oral History Team and become part of a dedicated group recording and archiving the story of Jews in Dallas.
Everyone has a story . . . Help us collect them all!
The Dallas Jewish Historical Society was established
in 1971 with the mission of “preserving the precious
past as a living legacy for our community.” The
agency is the only one that actively collects, preserves,
and records the history of the entire Greater Dallas
Jewish Community for research purposes. The Dallas
Jewish Historical Society is a partner agency of the
Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas and is primarily
supported by membership contributions.
