Leo Meyerovitz

Leo Meyerovitz z”l was born in 1915 in South Africa to an Orthodox family active in Jewish life and community.  Leo was educated, served in the military and raised his family in South Africa, only moving to Dallas at age 91 at the urging of his family.  Although Leo found Dallas very different culturally from his life in South Africa, he found a place for himself and spent much of his time enjoying the Jewish Community Center and the Tycher Library.

Jeneane Pearlman

Jeneane Pearlman was born in Wichita, Kansas, and has lived in Texas since the age of 7. Jeneane’s father was in the jewelry business and the family moved various times to follow his work. Jeneane has been a very active and important member in the Dallas Jewish community since 1957.  Her involvement within the Dallas Jewish community has included the Jewish Federation, Temple Emanu-El Sisterhood, and Vogel Alcove, in addition to serving on the boards of several other Jewish organizations.

Gerry Medow

Gerry Medow was born in 1953 in Johannesburg, South Africa, and moved to America in 1995. As a passionate man and a lover of Judaism, Gerry has made Dallas and its Jewish community his home.

Mitch Lurie

Mitch Lurie was born and raised in South Africa. After coming to America to visit his sister who lived in Dallas, Mitch received a job offer in Boston in 1986, where he began his new life in America. He lived in Boston for 2 years before he moved to Dallas.
