Bea Fox

Bea Fox was interviewed by Rose Biderman on November 2, 1988.

Bea Fox was born in Clesqe, Poland. and came to America when she was about three years old. Her father, a builder, immigrated to New York first then sent for the rest of the family. They were one of a few observant families there. Bea moved to Dallas with her Husband in 1936.

 

Aron Finkelstein

Aron Finkelstein discusses growing up in Russia and moving to the United States around the first World War. He discusses his education in Vilnius, public school in the United States and attending Columbia University. Growing up in a non-religious house, he discusses religion and his family dynamics.

He was interviewed by Miriam Creemer in 1981.

 

Marjorie Fine

Marjorie Fine at 96 years old discusses her weekly schedule as an independent woman, which includes volunteer work at Presbyterian Hospital, water therapy, going to Temple, and visiting her friend. She talks about her family roots, growing up in New York, and how she has two children, 6 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. In 1957 she moved to Dallas to be close to her children. She worked at the department store Titche-Goettinger and was part of the Leisure club at Temple Emanuel.

She was interviewed by Natalie Ornish on March 5, 2003.

 

Nellie Finberg

Nellie Finberg discusses how her parents came to Dallas, and the various places she lived in Texas. She talks about growing up Jewish, her school education, and growing up Jewish in a small town. She stresses the importance of family and discusses how her family celebrated Jewish holidays as a family.
