Gertrude Reisberg was interviewed by Doris Bergman on June 28, 1999.

Gertrude Reisberg wrote poems in school that are now in a book called, “Life is an Autobiography.” it was published in 1975. She has made two more since then. it is all about her experiences in school. She had an assembly where she made a speech, ”A Good Name Is Better than Riches,” that a teacher, Wilhelmina Hattie, made into a book. The Book was called, “The Speech.” It was used as a textbook and used as an example of a Perfect speech. She took part in a declaration contest where she had to memorize “A Man Without a Country” overnight. She also used to entertain orphans with the girl scouts. Her parents came to Dallas from Canada in 1912.
