Mitch Lurie

Mitch Lurie was born and raised in South Africa. After coming to America to visit his sister who lived in Dallas, Mitch received a job offer in Boston in 1986, where he began his new life in America. He lived in Boston for 2 years before he moved to Dallas.

Rik Katz

Born in South Africa, Rik Katz and his family moved to Dallas in 1986. He was a former treasurer of Akiba Academy and an involved Jewish community member before he and his family moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1998.

Jennifer Hepker

Hepker, JENNIFERJennifer Hepker was born in England and grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. She and her husband, Errol, eventually moved to Dallas where she has been able to influence the community, both Jewish and not.

Stanley Fine

Stanley Fine grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he attended primary school, high school, and university to study law. Stanley married his wife, Lynn, in 1982, and together they moved to Los Angeles for seven years before settling in Dallas on July 4th, 1992. Stanley discusses the differences between South Africa and America, specifically with regard to business and social conditions. Stanley has been involved with the U.S. Holocaust Museum and assisted in one of its programs, an education seminar given to Texas teachers from public and private high schools and universities. Stanley and Lynn have two children and continue to express their gratitude to the giving Dallas Jewish community.
